Overview
Designated as NCHC, the Nightingale-class Hospital Cruiser is the Imperial Republic’s flagship medical vessel — a mobile trauma center, humanitarian hub, and strategic medical outpost.
At 750 meters long and carrying a massive medical and logistics capacity, the Nightingale can treat thousands of wounded personnel in orbit or while grounded in active warzones. It is equipped with advanced surgical bays, intensive care decks, quarantine wards, and high-capacity trauma centers.
Despite being a non-combat vessel by mission profile, the Nightingale is far from defenseless. Its reinforced hull, point-defense grid, missile launchers, and turbolaser batteries ensure it can protect itself long enough to complete medevac operations or await escort.
With room for over 500 troopers, 750 passengers, 12 shuttles, and 2 squadrons, it often serves as a rally point or temporary command center for field operations and disaster relief. Its onboard jamming systems and medical-grade sensors allow it to operate even under partial electronic warfare conditions.
